Alex is the owner and operator of Heartwood Stairs, based in Ladysmith, BC. With over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, he began his career in Burlington, Ontario. A decade of that time was dedicated to woodworking, with a particular focus on stair and railing installation. During his early years in the trade, Alex worked alongside his father, a stair specialist with nearly three decades of expertise. After making the decision to forge his own path, Alex moved to the Nanaimo area of Vancouver Island. Where, despite being a recent arrival, he has quickly come to feel at home.

I feel truly fortunate to have the continued opportunity to create custom stairs that seamlessly blend beauty and functionality. Each day presents a new challenge, and the entire process is always deeply rewarding.
